Question about being waitlisted

So I was waitlisted from both SAS and SEBS. Will I really not know my decision until the candidate’s reply date, which is on May 1st? Or do they tell you earlier usually? Also if any of you can let me know if I seem to have a chance or not here are my stats :

Stats:
SAT: 1710. (Math: 530, CR: 540, Writing: 640)
GPA: Weighted: 3.27
Rank: Top 50%
Mid-year for senior year gpa: about 3.3. All A’s and B’s except one C+

I did 5 honors classes within my 4 years of high school (History, French, English, Accounting, Statistics) and no sports or AP. Extra curriculars: member of my school’s French Honors Society, student government, and women’s activism club. I also have some volunteer work

You’ll know your waitlist decision prior to the deadline. That is the logical answer. They usually do reply early enough to give you time to make a decision although that is subjective. I think you do have a good chance of being accepted with those stats. I would personally place you above average within the waitlist pool in hopes that your SAT will balance out the GPA.

Thanks so much for the reply! I’m also thinking about emailing them or calling, as that might make my chances of getting in higher as well
