Hi,
I’m an international student. I have few questions about transferring and which CC to go in.
I’m planning to take architecture major and UCLA is in one of my list, but assist.org wasn’t so helpful for transferable course to UCLA architecture studies major. Can someone tell me if Pasadena city college, or Diablo valley college is able to transfer or not.
I don’t know which CC to choose DVC or PCC, both school are able to transfer to the schools I’m aiming for, and high transfer rate to UC. However, DVC have architecture technology and maybe higher transfer rate than PCC. Please give me some advice on which CC to go to.
Thank you.
The transfer rate really doesn’t matter. Any community college in California has transferable courses.
You want to go to the school that has the most architecture pre-reqs. All schools will have the necessary courses for things like econ, anthro, business, etc., but architecture is a bit more niche. Go to whatever school has the most classes necessary.
I know you’re talking about UCLA and not Berkeley, but Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design (which architecture falls under) won’t even consider people without all the major pre-reqs and only a handful of schools in the state offer the necessary courses. In short, find the school with the most major pre-reqs.
@briank82 I just searched prep-req for Berkeley’s College of environmental Design in assist.org, and both colleges have courses that fills in articulated lower division major requirement. Also, for Cal Poly, both college don’t have courses to fill the lower division major requirement, does that mean they won’t consider me if I applied to Cal Poly?
