Question about challenge essay?

Hey guys I've seen some other applicants ask essay questions here so I hope this isn't out of place.

I'm applying to MIT as a freshman this year and I am wondering if my topic for the significant challenge essay is too superficial. I don't know how I feel about posting exactly what I wrote about but I have sort of a general question about this topic.

If our essay focuses less on the challenge itself and how we dealt with it and more on the lessons we learned from it would we be seen as avoiding or writing around the prompt?

Actually, MIT is far more interested in your reaction to the challenge than the difficulty itself. It would be very wise (and recommended) to focus on the lessons you learned and how you dealt with the challenge.

Wow okay! That makes me feel a lot better. Thank you
