Question about Cheating

Hello guys,

I originally posted something similar to this on the Duke page but I want to ask here as well since I'm applying here as an economics major.

Does Uchic have a method to prevent cheaters, especially on tests. A friend from USC told me that TAs grade the tests there and students will often change their answers and go complain to teachers for higher scores. Does the University of Chicago economics department have any preventative measures for this kind of stuff and are there consequences for caught cheaters?

I know that at least one of the econ professors here will only regrade a test if it was written in ink and therefore could not have been altered.

There are few set methods to prevent cheating. However, very little (if any) cheating occurs. There is a very strong social pressure from the student body against cheating, which works better than any system that a professor could design for an individual class.
