I am an incoming freshman and I have already received my schedule. For some of my classes, it says that they meet three times. Twice at the same time and place, for approx two hours, and then one more time at a different time and place for 55 minutes. Could someone explain to me what this third time slot is?

The 55 minute class is the recitation for the course. You will be in a smaller classroom with the professor or a TA. This is typically when they collect homework assignments, give quizzes, hold reviews for exams and give you a chance to ask questions about the course material outside of the lecture hall setting.

I haven’t gotten my schedule yet. Do most people have their schedules already? I’m in SEBS.

Schedules for first year students will be out August 20th.

If schedules don’t come out until Aug 20th for freshman, then why does Tallperson have his schedule?

Certain programs have a strict course schdule for first year students. Since there wasn’t much choice in what classes they were taking, their schedules are a lot easier to make and therefore can be finalized much earlier. My guess is that tallperson is in a school like Pharmacy or Nursing.

nope i’m an athlete :)

i shouldnt be saying this, but when i was an incoming student i got my schedule early because i needed to show it to a group giving me a scholarship, but im pretty sure you can make a good excuse to see it. Its early now but maybe in a week or so you can ask. I called office of academic affairs for my school.
