can you "waiver" into honors courses, in particular the intro science courses? or do you have to meet certain pre-requisites?

I have a friend who's not in the honors program but is in honors chem. dunno how she did it.

Well to take honors courses, you must be in the honors program....I'm in the Ru honors program and have never heard of a non-honors kid taking honors courses....especially the intro the sciences courses! however, like corduroybear said, i guess it's possible! but i'm warning you...i know a bunch of ppl who took honors chem and they HATED it & couldn't switch to regular gen chem...so jut be sure it's something you really want to do!

yeah, I'm in gen chem and a close friend of mines, another friend, is in the honors chem. Let me tell you that gen chem is SOOO much easier, but classes are a lot bigger.

I think my (first) friend waived into the honors chem... maybe because she was well prepared.. like took AP Chem.

what are the benefits of taking honors chem then

My friend really enjoys the smaller classes...and she learns more, but she did complain how hard it was in the beginning. Still, the class avg for her exams were like 70s while in gen chem it was more low 60s.
