Non honor student taking honor classes

Is it possible?
I'm currently a freshman, Animal Science major, Pre-vet track, taking 17 credits.
Gen Bio 101
Intro to Animal Science
Calc 1 for Math/Physics
Expos
Gen Psych
The pre-vets take gen chem their sophomore year, and my sophomore year's looking mighty easy so far, so I was wondering if there's any way I can get placed into Honors Gen Chem without being in the honors program? I'm pretty sure I'm going to do really well my freshman year, so far I've been doing really well in most courses, and I'm not sure whether or not good grades will convince the "people" that I'll be able to handle the coursework or not. Also, who would I have to contact?
Thanks in advanced.

What advantage do you see taking Honors Chem?

Talk to your advisor. She will be able to set you straight. You are lucky to get Intro to Animal Science. Last year’s freshman were shut out fall semester.
