Question about Critical Reading

Hi everybody. I read both Rocket Review and Gramatix. Rocket Review says to read the passages but at a fast pace and Gramatix says to just not even bother reading the passages. I personally think that reading the passages makes more sense but I could be wrong. What do you recommend to do? Read the passages or not?

Do whatever works for you. Some people have success with grammatix and some people have success with other strategies. It doesn't click with me to not read the passages, so I read them.

This could just be me, but I've found that the more practice tests I take, the less I need to actually read the passage. Some questions are so obvious that you can just skim for the answer and find it. This approach may get you some incorrect answers, but is great if you are always running low on time. If not, then just read the passages. It will help increase your understanding and thus, your score.

if u're going to read it at a fast pace i'd say DON'T BOTHER to read at all. reading fast doesnt make sense. you probably dont understand 99% of what you're 'reading'. it doesnt justify the time spent at all.

personally i don't read. just read the parts u need to answer the question. sometimes there are 'local' questions that are quite tricky and require understanding of the whole passage. but these questions are very rare. don't bother.

Grammatix never says skip it. I simply read the 1st / last paragarphs to get an idea of the passage, and then skim the passage really really quick to see how the author develops the passage. It only takes me a minute.

^ what score does that get you? i am curious cause my cr scores fluctuate from low 700s to mid 600s all the time and need to find a better strategy.
