question about curves...

let's say the conversion table goes like this:

raw score converted score
49 800
48 780
47 760
46 740

if you got two wrong, which means that your raw score would be a 46.5,

do you get 760 or 740?

thanks...

760 . you round up

thanks sheed..

but if i get three wrong, it's not a 740, is it?

If you get three wrong for a raw score is 46.25 so you would round down to 46. The conversion table can vary a little from year to year but your table is correct that would mean 740.

I hope this is how the curve goes. :)

Is this assuming none omitted?

Also do they have to have every since number be represented? For example they have to have 790, 780 760, 750 etc. They can't just jump around can they?

no, it doesnt have to include every number.

MD_Mom:
if you get 3 wrong, shouldnt it be 45.25 = 45?

Of course you're right! Bad math on my part--good thing my SAT days are behind me.
