Hello, I have a question: I applied to cuny really late (April 19) I am looking to attend a community college then transfer, but I am afraid they will reject me because of how overdue the application was. I applied to qcc, laguardia, and kings borough…along with a few four years just in case. My gpa in h.s was 2.7 which in number is 80-81. My question is when will I hear back and will they reject me? They said they will be accepting on a space availability basis, I contacted laguardia and the admissions representative told me to apply.
Please answer. Any advice will help
Hey. They should eventually respond to you before the Fall semester begins hopefully. But with CUNY if you are not persistent and constantly calling and checking on your status nothing will get done. I don’t think you will be rejected just look at the gpa requirements for the schools you applied for. I would recommend going up to a few of the schools and speaking with someone. When I was in high school I just went up to the admissions office of one of the schools I applied to and they gave me my decision moments later. Good Luck.
@CunyOD . I am planning to visit the schools I want to go to the most, I was hoping they would accept me on site too. I will just have to wait. Laguardia and queens borough have open admissions, so I just hope they accept and have space. I am so glad I am not a nursing major. And thank you
Yes you should definitely visit and talk to an admissions counselor or someone in admissions. And don’t get just one opinion about your admissions get multiple. I would recommend looking at the admissions directory/ staff info and look for a person who is head of department for admissions that will help because they will be able to help best. And yes nursing would have made it harder. I hope you hear back soon. And you’re welcome. Good Luck.
