<p>Being a newbie, just wondering if the colleges ever notify the students before the actual date - for example, if they say "December 15th", is it usually that date and no earlier? I think I am more anxious than D is - LOL! She has her school musical this week, so that is keeping her very busy and her mind is occupied with that, keeping up with her homework, and trying to get sleep when she can, so the college notification dates have not kept her awake at night like it has kept me.</p>

<p>Sometimes the notices come later than expected, too. :(
But you can often get word when mailed notices go out, one way or another, by monitoring this board -- it's pretty regular for kids to report when mail is received in various parts of the country, even giving you the heads up as to whether to expect a fat or thin envelope.</p>
<p>Last year my daughter had a full week between receiving notification from two "December 15" schools: one a one-day-early e-mail and the other a two-days-late snail-mailing.</p>
