The application is due the 31 of October for Early Response?

How long before this date does the online part of the application have to be sent?

If I assume my transcript and test scores will make this deadline, do I need to send the online part soon or can the online part wait a bit longer?

If you haven't sent anything now you are in trouble. If you have eveything but your app in and haven't yet written your essays, I wouldn't bother with the ER deadline...just take time to write the essays and make sure they are solid. I sent mine October 2nd and they haven't even posted the "view credentials" link on my WA which means its been 2 weeks and my app still isn't ready. Everything needs to be COMPLETED in 2 weeks so rather than doing your 3 essays tonight, take your time and send it all in in a couple weeks.

wait a second--if i am just editting my long essay but have everything else done, i should not even bother applying early? i mean my recommendations and transcript will be sent by monday or tuesday of next week. how will this not make the oct. 31 deadline?

um...on the official site for the early response, it says "Complete your application by October 31st. For all students whose completed applications are received by October 31st, we will guarantee that a decision will be released by December 21st."

How does "Complete the application by october 31" mean "complete the application two weeks before october 31"?

It doesn't take two weeks for a paper application to get to admissions...so if it took that long for the electronic one to be "in", there would be virtually no advantage to do it online. =

I'm pretty sure it takes a couple weeks for them to process the app and all the materials you sent them after you send it in and it usually takes two weeks. Am I confusing one thing with another?

My stupid school actually won't send my transcript until the application is complete, although I really don't get why. I guess I won't make early response... (I didn't understand the policy I guess, I had everything prepared except the essays and was hoping I could turn in the app after everything was sent.)

^i think that is how it works at most schools....i thought my school had sent it in earlier, but on wolverine access, the day my online part was received was the date shown for my transcripts, teacher rec. and counselor rec. even though my teacher had sent it in June...
or maybe umich just reported it that way because they dont look at anything until everything is there....
