My DD got a 34 on her December ACT (35,33,33,33). To raise it one point to a 35, she would need to raise her individual scores by 4 points total. How hard is is raise your scores by 4 points? How many more questions do you have to get right to raise a sub-score 1 point?

from a 35 to a 36, that's one question
From a 33 to a 34, thats usually two questions (sometimes 1)

Well a perfect 36 on math is not difficult. A 35 at the least if she's careful. So that is 2 points at least. The last 2 points are gonna be fairly hard to get, but its not impossible.

And anhtimmy, from a 33 to a 34 is more often 1 question than 2. 1 point = 2 questions at around 30 or so for most of the tests. And even if it was, let's say, -4 or -5 to get a 33, you still have a 50% chance of having gotten the -4 instead of the -5. Just cuz the OP got a 33 does not mean she got the lowest possible 33.
