Question about EC's

Hello again Yale board! How is everyone? Good, good. Anyways, I know that Yale (and other colleges for that matter) like to see consistency with EC's. Unfortunately, a lot of the things I've done have only been for one year at a time (e.g. a free improv class that only lasted a certain number of months, a film club that was disbanded after my freshman year, I didn't like Mock Trial, etc.) However, I have volunteered at a theater company for volunteer ushering last year for at least 20 hours last year, and I plan on doing it again soon. Would it look nice for me to get an internship there as opposed to an internship at a different theater? Any help would be appreciated :D

I think WHERE you get the job is fairly unimportant… I do agree though that they like to see a “passion” which would probably be pursued over more than one year. The fact that you are pursuing the same interest in the theatre job shows an interest that is independent of where you get it. However, some other EC’s that you stick with and become good at/important in would be good.

Always my advice though:
Do what you love and do it well. That is what they want to see

Thanks :D

…I do have another question though. I go to an arts school, and as such I have about three theater classes everyday. Since it’s part of my school’s curriculum, I’m guessing that these don’t count as extra curriculars, do they?
