I am extremely passionate about getting into my top school, I love it in every way.
For my essay, I was told by many students to write about why I will fit in perfectly at their college but then online I read that college admissions officers do not enjoy reading essays like that; instead they want more "out of the box" type essays.

Is this true? And if so, How can I get my voice heard through the thousand applications that I truly want to be there?

thanks!
But usually when i write about who i am, i find myself almost…not necessarily bragging, but rambling about what makes me, me.
I guess my point is, I know who i am and why i belong there… but I can never find the perfect words into something that will stand out above the rest!
hope this makes some sense…

in a creative way of writing you suggest?
like, tell a story through my story?
This whole essay process is the hardest for me because I’m counting on it very much because its the one chance I can(other than interview) to express who I am!

^yes and yes. And yes. Essays are really important for everybody But as far as the “rambling” part goes, when you have it reviewed by an English teacher, and when you go through it a couple times yourself, you start to realize where you’re rambling and cut it back. Also to avoid rambling, think of your essay as about one or two very specific things. By jumping around to different areas of your life, you risk rambling…

okay! thanks.
I feel like I need to figure out a way to write creatively! I’m a creative person but not when it comes to writing. figures!

Another thing: What makes me who I am, is obtacles that I have overcame…
I have also read that colleges dont want to hear about your adversity struggles either.
