question about Explore travel arrangements

I will arrive around 11am Sunday at LAX and depart on a 7:30 am flt Tuesday for an April visit. Obviously not much time to do anything beside Explore on Monday. Planning on staying at the Radisson both nights. Is the extra $ to stay there over a priceline downtown hotel worth it? Do we need to rent a car? What would you suggest doing Sun afternoon/evening? We have been to LA once before and did the normal tourist things. Price is a consideration. Thanks!

I think staying at Radisson is very convenient when you're there for Explore. You can get to campus early and go back to your room at any time. And you don't have to worry about transportation back and forth from your hotel downtown.
Somebody has booked Radisson for $139 a night before.

If however, if you are renting a car, take into consideration parking costs as hotels downtown cost quite a bit for parking unless it's free with your room stay.

Taxi rides are about $50 from the airport to Radisson. There are shuttle bus that cost $15 per person so if you have three people, then taxi rides are worth it. There are also airport shuttles from the Union Station to the airport for really cheap.

we have also stayed at Vagabond Inn which is very affordable. It is about 3 blocks from campus so it's pretty convenient. Of course it's an inn and is not as fancy as hotels but it was clean.

stayed at the Omni downtown (3 miles away) and it was lovely - got a good rate too by mentioning USC

on another note, I thought all the Explore USC sessions for scholarships were done - anyone know?

The Explore USC sessions in April are for all other admitted students who aren't up for the big scholarships
