Question about external transferring to Cockrell

I'm a current student at my local CC who wants to transfer to chemical engineering next year. I'm taking calculus II this summer session and I'm not doing as good as I'd like to be doing (I personally believe it more has to do with my professor, although I admit I slacked off a little at the start). There is a good chance that I'll make a C in this course, with the best case scenario being a B if I do really well on the final. I currently have a 4.0 with about 35 credits.

My question is should I just drop the course and retake it this fall? If I was sure I would get a B I'd just take the grade, but it's not certain. I also heard that cockrell doesn't accept C's in calculus from other schools so I'd just have to retake it again anyway. Would the 1 W look bad at all?

Also another question if anyone knows, I'm a veteran using Hazelwood benefits, does anything happen with that when I withdraw from a course?

Make an A in engineering physics…it should make up for the fact that you got a B…
You kind of have to decide for yourself if you want to be set back a semester or not in regards to math

If you’re ok with retaking it and getting a bit “behind” then I’d redo it.
It’d definitely make your chances higher if you had an A in calc 2 than a B…ALOT higher.

They MAINLY look at calculus and engr physics. Your overall gpa does matter kind of but not as much as those classes. You can have a overall gpa of 3.7-4.0 but you made B’s in calc 1 and engr phys 1…that looks bad when you’re applying for engr school.
