Question about GPA

<p>So as of now, I have a weighted GPA of 4.2, which is considered low to the ridiculously high standards of this country's selective school. I COULD have received a 4.3 GPA instead, if it weren't for the first semester of my freshman year. I simply didn't try hard enough and applied myself at the beginning of high school, but since then, I've gotten straight A's. Do you think Adcoms will take my improvement into consideration when they look at my GPA? Or, do you think they'll say "Eh, why should we give her slack when the other kids have done well throughout?" :/ </p>

<p>It appears you’re rather misinformed about how colleges evaluate academic achievement.</p>

<p>Most likeley, they will not make your admission decision based on a .1 gpa difference, especially since your’s is already above 4.0. In fact, it might even work to your advantage as it shows you’ve improved from freshman year.</p>
