I noticed on college data that UR doesn’t require GPA but considers course rigor very important. This seems wierd. Can anyone elaborate on if Rochester considers grades in admission?
Hi! Rochester released that stats for class of 2019 and the average GPA was 3.8 and most admitted students were in the top 10% of their classes. I was accepted early decision for class of 2020- my stats are similar and my senior schedule consists of 6 APs and 3 dual enrollment courses.
Grades are important to admissions but Rochester takes a holistic approach and even has a test-flexible policy. I don’t think that grades would be used as a deciding factor unless they fall really to the left or right of their average. I wasn’t above UR’s average and was accepted, so they really do look at everything. Good luck!
And UR definitely does require a GPA & transcript, they just don’t have a GPA minimum.
