Hello kind soul,
I just got admitted to CU Boulder as an ecology and evolutionary biology major with honors and a chancellors scholarship. I know that at like, UT Austin you should apply for housing even before you’re officially accepted because housing is so limited and if you wait you definitely won’t get into a good dorm, if you get into one at all. Is it like that at CU Boulder, should I apply now? Do they even let you?
I believe you have to commit (confirm admission and pay deposit) to CU Boulder to access the housing application.
All Freshman are guaranteed housing at CU Boulder. However apply right away for best selection. Look at Learning and Living communities, they are good but require additional essays. There really is not a bad location in Boulder so I would not worry but Honors dorms will have less drinking. The housing is all fine, and its only 9 months and then you will get an apartment in Boulder as most undergraduates do. Its not really a big deal where you live in Boulder so much. Lots of busses to get around and bring a bike its easy to bike to campus.
Hi! I just got accepted and I applied to housing right away. I want a good dorm on campus whereas my sister waited months to accept and apply so she ended up in Will Vill, which is off campus (she said you get used to it but it does kind of suck). Even if CU isn’t your top choice but its a good chance you will be going there, I would accept and pay the deposit right away to ensure you get one of the dorms you want. Hope this helps!
