Question about housing selection

Hi I’m a freshman Early Decision II applicant to Lehigh University. I was wondering if I got my acceptance letter in mid-February but waited until March to accept the decision (for financial aid reasons) would I not have much of a choice as I would if I accepted earlier?

"Our program is a binding Early Decision plan, meaning that the student who is admitted to Lehigh under this program must withdraw all other applications filed and must not initiate any new applications to other schools. Additionally, the student, his or her parents/guardians, and guidance counselor must sign an Early Decision Agreement form to confirm their understanding of this provision. Students applying Early Decision should be sure that Lehigh is their first choice school. "

“Early Decision candidates forfeit the ability to compare financial aid offers from other schools.”

Please read the whole link I provided. You and your parents were required to sign this Early Decision Agreement. You can not be shopping around now for better financial aid packages. You agreed to cancel all other applications once you were accepted Early Decision to Lehigh. Other colleges will not accept you once they find out you are not honoring your Early Decision agreement to Lehigh.

This is a very big deal.

“While pursuing admission under the Early Decision plan, students may apply to other institutions, but may only have one Early Decision application pending at any time. Additionally, Early Decision candidates forfeit the ability to compare financial aid offers from other schools.”

So have you notified the other schools you applied to regular admission that you have been accepted at Lehigh?

When the schools you have applied to regular admissions finds out you were accepted Early Decision to Lehigh and didn’t notify them, as you were suppose to do, they may choose to rescind their financial aid offers to you.
