Question about in/out of state tuition

I grew up in Washington and attended a CC for a while when I was 16. I moved to live with my grandparents when I was 20 since my grandpa broke his back and I've been helping him out with repairing his house and going to stores while working a full time job. I'm now 21 and plan to stay here for about a year or two longer, however, Washington is my home and I really miss it. I plan to stay there for good after my Grandpa gets better and I finish my 2 year here.

Will living in MO for 2-3 years ruin my chances in receiving in-state tuition at UW or WSU? My dream college is actually Santa Clara, which is in CA, but I think I may choose UW if I'm accepted there for financial reasons.

PS: Anyone know if UW's CS program is hard to transfer into?

Each colleges’ website will have info on requirements for residency. Look under “bursars office” in each site. Different colleges, even within the same state, will have differing requirements.
