Non tradition student. Advice about transferring.

I moved to California from South America a few years ago. I am 28 years old and I am currently attending community college in California. Due to my husband’s career, we will move to Washington state in the fall. Since I would be considered an out of state student, I applied to CWU which is one of the universities that offer a tuition discount for California residents.

I am changing my mind about attending CWU. I was thinking of waiting one year to get in-state tuition while working and taking some classes at a community college, then apply to all three of the UW campuses. As of now, my GPA is 3.42 and I am expecting it to be 3.6 at the end of this semester. I will be applying as an accounting major.

Would it be worth it to wait one year to get in-state tuition? Do I have good chances to get into UW?
To be honest, I am worried that after waiting a year I don’t get admitted to UW.

You might want to look at Bellevue College, it’s graduates earn an average higher wage on graduating than UDub students. It has many vocational degrees that are in high demand. You can also transfer to the Udub from there.
