Question about Indiana University's rolling admissions

Let's say you apply before Nov. 1 in order to receive merit aid. You're notified mid-November that you are accepted and here's your package, etc. When do you have to notify them that you are or are not planning to attend?

By mid-November, many colleges aren't even accepting applications yet, and won't notify you until March.

Can you wait until March-April to notify IU??

You have until May 1 to notify about enrollment. Same date for merit aid awards.
When you get the acceptance letter, you should register and pay the housing deposit because it says that housing is assigned by housing application priority date. You can change your housing choice during the year (neighborhood, learning community. etc), but your priority date stays the same

Just the info I needed. Thank you!

Yes and little known is the fact that your housing priority date also determines whether you can get a good parking pass (for those bringing a car to campus).

Definitely apply early in the cycle--my son applied in August and received his admission right after Labor Day and sent in his housing right away so he would have priority. It was a great feeling to be in at soemwhere he really liked so early in the year--a huge stress reducer!
