Hey all,

I was looking up some internships for the summer and I was really interested in healthcare/medicine/science. I came across this website: Summer Internships for High School Students and was wondering if anyone had ever heard of it. Is it worth it to PAY money to do an internship?

On a side note, does anyone happen to know any sites that could help me search for the aforementioned internships? Anyone know of any internships off the top of their heads?

Thanks a bunch!

Sometimes local universities have summer research programs for high-school students. You could also try your local network (parents, parents of friends) to see if they know researchers at local universities. These are often unpaid as they have to train you. You might also try your local hospital to see if they take in volunteers or have clerical openings. I worked in a local hospital as a clerk (updated medical records, took labwork to the lab, got stuff from the pharmacy, took patients for lab work, delivered food and drink to patients and moved a body onto a stretcher for transport to the morgue (only once). That was paid work and I did it from about 16 to 19. There were also volunteers at the hospital.

You could also try any local drug companies to see if they have programs for high-school students.
