Question about Kelly Direct Admit and Kelly Scholars

hey guys so a question about Kelly direct admit as a freshmen. If you are admitted direct to kelley do you get both the Indiana University Achievement Scholarship (range 1-11k) as well as the direct admit 9k scholarship? how does that work?

also, i see kelly direct admit takes weighted GPA. What about Kelly Scholars...does it take weighted GPA in the application process as well?

thanks for your time :)

My son received the $11k plus another $2k per year for the Honors program. Look on the FAQ section of Kelley for answers on which gpa is used - I believe it’s whatever your high school reports on the transcript.

what if my school reports both

What direct admit $9K scholarship are you talking about? I’m not aware of any Kelley Direct Admit scholarship, just the Kelley Scholars program which provides full tuition. If your school reports both weighted and unweighted GPA, IU and Kelley use the weighted GPA for admissions and scholarship consideration.

Nevermind @stbemtpynes i misunderstood

but the question i am basically asking is, if i qualify for direct admit what scholarships will i be in contention for receiving?

and with a 92 UW GPA/96-97ish Weighted and a 2200 SAT(1470 core) should i be applying for kelly scholars?

For 2014-15, IU changed their “automatic” scholarship program so that it is no longer based on a straight formula of GPA and SAT/ACT score. So while you are likely to get some $$$ for the IU Achievement Scholarship (assuming you are out-of-state), I’m not sure if you would get the max of $11K. With your stats you would also have a good chance of getting a Hutton Honors scholarship of $1-6K, like leftoright’s son. This would be in addition to the IU Achievement Scholarship. Just be sure to apply to IU early, so you don’t miss any deadlines. The Kelley Scholars program is VERY competitive, especially for out-of-state students. In fact, according to this article, ALL of the 2013-14 Kelley Scholars are from Indiana:
[Indiana University announces 2013-14 Kelley Scholars: IU News Room: Indiana University](<a href=“Indiana University announces 2013-14 Kelley Scholars: IU News Room: Indiana University”>Indiana University announces 2013-14 Kelley Scholars: IU News Room: Indiana University)
But it is 100% certain you won’t be a Kelley Scholar if you don’t apply, so go for it! The Kelley Scholar program is based on much more than just GPA and test scores, though.
