Question about LCT and Triples at Rubin

Does Rubin have Normal Triples?

And what is the difference in room size between a Low cost triple and a Triple at Rubin.

How does the Low cost triple rooms compare in size to the double rooms at Rubin?

Thank you.

Rubin does have some normal triples. There are some threads about this in the forum.

What NYU did is take a regular double room and put a bunk bed in it to make it a triple. There will be a bunk bed and a single bed. If all three students agree, you can debunk the bunk bed and have three single beds, although it makes it a little more cramped.

If you can do the search, find out what number the normal triples are, you can look at the pdf floor plan that’s been posted and compare the size. From what I remember when I was a student, it’s a roomy room with plenty of space for three people.

My daughter was in Rubin a couple of years ago in a LCT. It really is fine and doable. It will be the lowest cost housing you have in your four years at NYU (if cost is an issue) .

From the wiki
*-01: Typically a regular cost triple. VERY good size: the beds do not have to be bunked. It is a long room with one big room, a smaller area connected, and a bathroom. The best way to set-up the room is to put the 3 beds in the larger room + one desk, and then put the other 2 desks in the smaller room. There are two closets - one is deep with shelf space and the other is shallower but still large. The room is located on the 10th St. side of Rubin (there are three windows: one looks south and the other east). The rooms that are at the higher floors have a very good view of Bobst library and Washington Sq.

You can see the -01 triple here on the pdf. It is larger than any of the -09, -08 etc.

Thanks very much!
