Question About Local Scholarships

We are in the process of applying for numerous local scholarships.

Some of them ask what other scholarships you have been awarded and some general questions about financial need.

The issue is this. DS has been awarded a merit scholarship to U of M that will pay for about half the total cost for four years. However, he's not positive he's going there. It partly depends on what comes back in need based aid from some other private schools on April 1.

Anyone have any experience with this? Seems like we might be doing a lot of work when the scholarship committee is going to say "50% to U of M, why would we give it to them?"

Any thoughts?

just put pending?

You should just list the local scholarships that you have already won because you will use these awards definitely at any college you choose to attend. If you choose to state the Merit scholarship, I agree with lays1989; list it as Pending.
