I will be studying at UT in the fall at the Liberal Arts school.. I may possibly major in Geography + minor Philosophy (or Economics)..Also, I definetly want to learn a few languages and study abroad.

My question is.. I really would like to go onto Grad School and study Business. However, by me going into the Liberal Arts program.. will I be able to compete with kids who will major in Undergrad Business? Will I be hindered by my choice of Liberal Arts rather than McCombs?

I am aware that anyone can sign up for pre-law/pre-med courses... But I really dont think thats for me.. Instead of those options (prelaw/med).. could I possibly take Pre-Business courses (if thats such a thing) to prepare me for the GMAT test?

The most important thing to remember is that if you want to get an MBA, you don't go immediately from undergrad - I know that McCombs requires 2 years of post-baccalaureate work experience, and many schools require or recommend more.

Your major does not make as much of a difference - 3 most important factors in admissions to MBA programs are work experience, GPA, and GMAT scores.

You could always try and do a dual-degree in McCombs if you are set on liberal arts, but you would need a lot of AP or dual credit from high school to graduate in 4 years because of the large amount of required business courses. Also, look into the Business Foundations Program.

It's really hard to transfer into P2 but it is definitly possible. Supposedly they take 2-3 transfers a year. One of my friends did it. He's obviously very bright and took many honors courses even before he was accepted into P2.
