so i've been accepted into UT but i still dont know which major i've been accepted to. my first choice was mccombs and my second choice was natural sciences (major in mathematics). realistically i probably wont get into mccombs bc my sat scores arent insanely high and i'm in the top 6% of my class. and i most likely will get accepted to the college of natural sciences. but i recently talked to my brother who goes to texas and he said the best way for me to transfer into mccombs after my freshman year is to do a liberal arts major to maintain a really high gpa. so what should i do if i want to switch to the liberal arts school instead of natural sciences. do i call the office of admissions or what?

did you ever figure out what to do?
im in a super similar position :/

I’m not sure if they do this anymore, but I think they have a way that you can switch into Liberal Arts online and then you’ll receive a letter saying that you’ve been moved. That’s what I did 2 years ago when I got into UT (moved from Natural Sciences to Liberal Arts). You could try that, and if you’re reallly not sure, then I would definitely call the office of admissions.

If you are in McCombs now it is much easier to stay in Mccombs than it is to transfer- especially to that particular school it is VERY VERY DIFFICULT to transfer to business because so many people want to. If you are in Business already stick with it and just take a few easy classes if you really want to keep your GPA up.

If you do want to switch your major or school however, wait until your summer orientation and they will tell you what you need to do to transfer. Doing so before then will just be pointless because the advisors are all currently busy and will most likely tell you to wait for your orientation
