<p>does anyone know if the major you choose would impact the colleges decision? If i chose engineering would it be difficult to be admitted into the UC's compared to choosing a different major which is not as impacted?</p>

<p>yeah definitely especially for Berkeley, but if you have great stats, just go to engineering. it will be extremely hard to transfer into engineering later on.</p>
<p>There are colleges within the university such as "College of Arts and Sciences", "College of Eng", "College of Business", etc. On the app, you specify which of the colleges you are applying to. Each one has its own admissions criteria. Majors such as biology, math, history, and English are probably all in the College of Arts and Sciences, but if you want to be an engineer, you have to apply to the College of Engineering.</p>
