Why are the meal plans cheaper as the number of roommates goes up in residence halls, apartments, and the University Inn? Just curious.

the meal plans don't change in price, the housing charges decrease w/each additional roommate

im an incoming freshmen.
i made the choice for a 7 day meal plan for the first qtr.

was that a good idea?
how would you rate the alternative eateries?

P.S. Sorry for hijacking the thread

I chose the 7 day too. I think it is the best for FROSH. The alternate eateries are fun. The food is about the same or better than the dining hall food (which imo says a lot). It seems like the spots are great for lunch and snacks, but people seem to get dinner/breakfast at the dining hall.

learn to love the cafes.

7 day is the best because, um, you generally eat 7 days a week - yes?
you're not going to want to go off campus for all your weekend meals, and campus cafe's have limited weekend hours. you can always drop it down to a 5 day after your first quarter if you really want to, but you'll do so much socializing in the dining hall as a frosh.

the only people i know who have five day meal plans as a frosh are ones that go home EVERY weekend. i do mean EVERY. othwerwise, kewkiekid is right.... dining halls are fun for socializing... food is not so much fun after a while...

yeahh...dont think ill be goin home every weekend haha. san diegos pretty far.

Damn. I got the 5 day plan.... probably should have gone for the 7 but oh well. I'll just have to stock up food in my fridge or just go to the cafes.

I think you can upgrade the plan....

just call the housing office..

(831) 459-2394

yeah Im not sure they would deny more money...
