Just wanted to know if purchasing a meal plan is the way to go. if so which meal plane should i get? BTW, im a new incoming transfer student.

I am transferring this fall too, and I was thinking about the meal plan as well, but decided against it.

I think it is probably overpriced and it will actually be cheaper to buy and cook your own food (unless you are planning on eating out). Personally, I don’t think I would want to get up early in the morning and bike to the dining commons for breakfast or any other meal. It seems more convenient to make my own food and you can actually decide on what you want to eat instead of having to eat what is offered. I also think I could make healthier alternatives to what is offered in the meal plans.

Those are just some of the things I was considering when I opted not to choose the meal plan. Maybe somebody else that has had both meal plans and no meal plans can post their preference.

Unless you hate to cook and aren’t picky about what you eat, then I would suggest the meal plans.

I am also a transfer student who will be living in San Clemente. I was considering going for the meal plan but I noticed that each meal is over $10. I can make food much cheaper than that.

Also, you can’t “rollover” meals to the next week. So if you don’t use them, you lose them.

I ultimately decided against buying a meal plan.
