Question about mentioning politics in college apps.....

Currently I am in 9th grade. I am already part of debate(almost on jv, but i am very passionate about this one), FBLA and Habitat for humanity(i know they are generic, but they dont take up to much time.....I was thinking about starting a republican club, I live in the south so i think i would have atleast 15 people in the club......is it a good or bad thing to mention founder of the republican club on the apps?

I don't think there would be anything wrong with that. It's a leadership role.

normally, schools shouldn't judge you on you're political beliefs. but hey, they might cause we're all human and we all have some bias towards people who have different beliefs. shouldn't be anything wrong with a republican club. just don't apply to schools in the Northeast, they'll rip you to shreds.

Schools in the Northeast want Republicans too!!! Being politically active shows maturity and leadership, and you obviously think for yourself if you want to go to a school where Republicans may be in the minority.

It's fine. Colleges want diversity. Founding a club is very impresive. If you're passionate, go for it.
