I got the essay about humor - something like, "is humor the best approach to difficult situations and problems?"

I said NO, but then went on to say like "humor is not the best approach, as it is better to approach difficult situations with a serious attitude"
and went on to use examples of random people who had serious approaches and succeeded in overcoming these difficult circumstances.

it didn't come to me until after i'd already finished writing my essay that perhaps i'd taken the WRONG approach to the essay. Since basically i didn't mention humor at all beyond the first paragraph.... would they give my essay a 0? I only realized till afterwards that what i SHOULD have done if i had taken the opposing side was to say "no, humor is not the best approach as shown in these examples where using humor led to failure to overcome difficult situations."

Sooo yeah it's like freaking me out right now because i'm genuinely beginning to think they'll give me a zero for irrelevancy. I would have been better off just talking about humor but using terrible examples and writing horribly... because that way I would get at least like a 2 right?

So help me here. do you think the way I approached my essay was "irrelevant"? :/
