Hi, I'm gonna be a freshman in community college this fall, but there are so many people in that college that it's hard for me to get in the classes. I'm thinking about taking some credits from online schools. I did some research but I still have no idea which online school I should choose. Can you name some online schools that you go to? Their credits are supposed to be transferable for UC schools. by the way, I did not decide my major yet, just for IGETC. Thank you very much!

I would look into Coastline Community College, they have UC transferable courses offered online, or your own CCC might offer online classes as well, you’d have to check the schedule to see if any are still open

(sigh), my ccc is way too full…

■■■■■ with everyone referring everyone to CCC, it’s gonna be a full CC too. ha.

one of its newest applicants

De Anza and Foothill both have lots of spots left, since they just allowed students to register in late July
And if you cannot get in, waitlist the class. Email the instructor on the first day of class, they generally will give you add codes. I do so 4 times and get the add code without a hitch, super easy process

I completed more than half of my 70 units via online courses @ SMC and WLACC.

If you’re taking online classes, do them at your CCC, or a CCC within the same district. I would strongly advise not going to an “online school.”

You could probably take an online class at any CCC, but you have to remember the transcript when you apply.

If you apply to Coastline AHEAD of time lol, rather than a week before enrollment opens for Spring '12, you might have a better chance at Online classes. Also, a lot of people drop and they accept a good amount off of the waitlist. I’ve taken 6 online classes at Coastline (Calc 1-3, Span 1-2, and 2nd English class).

I also took Music 8 at Foothill over the Summer. I had obviously no priority with registration since I’ve never taken a class there. Since they didn’t use a waitlist for that class, I simply emailed the professor, explained my interest in taking the class for a specific requirement that wasn’t offered anywhere else in Orange County, and she saved me an add code. This technique can work at various schools but it definitely takes time. I applied to 11 CCCs that offered a comparable Summer Online class for this requirement and emailed about 5 professors. Obviously, this technique is easier if you’re not picky about what class you’re taking.

^ Music 8 @ Foothill for American Culture Req @ Cal is super easy lol. I love Dr. Barkley

yeah i finished all the quizzes in four or five days and that was that.

any cc still offering online classes right now?, i need to raise my gpa

for Fall? Try Foothill and DeAnza. As far as I checked yesterday, most online courses at CCC/OCC/GWC and Moorpark, Ohlone, Ventura are all full sigh
