Question about Princeton admissions

So on questbridge Princeton says that the financial aid for those who are admitted through the college match and regular decision are the same. Then why do they admit only a small percentage of the applicants for the match and the rest of the students at regular? If they're going to admit them later on, why not before hand? Like last year only 14 students got matched to princeton.

Because they would rather wait and see other applicants, compare them to questbridge applicants, and then decide.
If they admit too many questbridge applicants, since its early decision and binding, that means they have to admit less regular decision, stopping people who are more qualified to get into the school.
