Hi guys,
I just had a quick question about what happens if you go over 130-135 quarter units before transferring? I want to take about two more 5 quarter classes during the summer that might put me over 135 quarter units. I’m transferring to UC Irvine, no TAG, and was wondering what happens? Like do the first 105 quarter units count or do all the units you take count? Thanks.
As long as they are lower division courses there is no limit. If these are at a community college they are all lower division. You will get subject credit for all courses but just 105 qtr units will transfer.
@Ohm888 Do I choose which 105? Or do they choose for me according to my major?
No choice is necessary. All courses count for subject credit, even if the number of units is capped at 105 for non-UC lower division units transferred in.
@ucbalumnus Thanks for the response. So if I was to go over 135, there would be no problem with it?
If they are all lower division non-UC courses, then they will transfer as 105 quarter units or 70 semester units, but you will get subject credit for all courses.
If the colleges you are taking them from are California community colleges, use http://www.assist.org to check what subject credit you will get.
