My child was academically dismissed after five years of college. Her last year was her worst. She suffered from depression, was poorly medicated and developed an eating disorder. I would like to encourage her to "get back into the swing". She is taking a community college course this semester, took two courses last summer (failed one) but seems to be doing better. I don't really know, yet. Anyway...she left college with a 1.79 GPA after, as I said, five years. What would it take for her to get up to the required 2.0? Is it an easy or an impossible task? I might want it more than she does at this point.

First, Im sorry for what your daughter is going through.
I would not say impossible. But I would recommend that she gets back to her feet before retaking school. I know it’s not a quick process to recover but she CAN get a 2.0. I would take probable a few As to get that.
