Ok, a lot of schools require those recommendation sheets that make them check a bunch of boxes and fill in blanks, etc.

Is it necessary to add an additional written supplement onto that sheet, or is the original sheet by itself ok?

I don’t know if I ENTIRELY know what your question is, but those sheets usually ask the teacher to write any comments that they have about the student. What they write for that is an extremely important part of their recommendation.

Ok, University of Michigan has a sheet for your counselor that has a bunch of boxes for them to check off about your GPA, your school, etc. At the bottom of the sheet, it says that if you have anything to add on, attach an additional written supplement.

My question is if this additional supplement is absolutely necessary. Can a counselor choose not to add anything?
