So, hii.
Um I play an instrument, so I thought that it would be nice to send in a CD along with my application and stuff. I have chosen my pieces, but then...
Like, do they listen to the whole thing? Do they look at your level, or do they just take the CD as an "effort" bonus? Would it make me look obnoxious or something if I go record at this awesome studio place that is REALLY famous and good? Will I look too superficial? /:
Thankssss!

to be honest, don’t go spending money on a recording studio. i just used my iPhone and recorded it and got into the school lol.

LOL okay :D

Definitely make the recording. It helps a lot. You don’t need to go into a famous recording studio. I made mine with a crappy digital camera.

does your plating have to be awesome to send in a CD? or does it just show that your prepared to put in more effort?

Both i suppose. When you submit your cd, tell them how long you’ve been playing the instrument for. I started a brand new instrument my freshman year of high school, and applied the same year to boarding school. So, i only had 3/4 months of experience when i submitted mine. I played the twelve major scales, and two totally different styles of music.

if i like choose a song, should i go for advanced, or should i go for like a nice piece that sounds really good?

In my opinion it depends.
What instrument do you play? They will be more competition if you play violin, trumpet, flute, etc. I play the marimba. Not many people play those instruments so I think I may of had an advantage. If you play a common instrument, go for a piece that will make you stand out.

ohh… okay. haha i play the flute, so yeah.
and i also play the piano. even more competition. LOL.
THANK YOU :)
