Question about resumbitting essays for deferres

Sorry, I know this was already asked before but i can't find it
What did we decide on the question of deferres submitting rewrites/different versions of their original essays? Bad idea or okay?
thanks

I say bad idea.

ditto. sounds like you that the essay was bad to begin with, and who knows, they might have really liked it the way it was.

Bad idea. Stop thinking that what you have now is 'bad.' You have no idea why you were deferred, and changing your essays may even hurt you. Send the letter of intent, and inform them of new awards and stuff.

i say bad idea. if you send a revised essay, they may think you didn't take it seriously the first time.

i guess i should have clarified: my two essays are different, but on the same topic, they do however talk about a different set of events

well, according to the last thread i made on this topic, it might STILL be a bad idea to send them additional essays, especially if you are sending other supplementary materials. You might overwhelm the admissions office, and end up confusing the adcom.
