Question about resume and the additional information???????

Sorry, I know the question about putting your resume on the additional information has already been discussed a countless number of time but I haven't been able to get the answer to my question: Some colleges have a separate section for you to actually upload your resume while some do not. I have already "uploaded" a truncated version of my resume on the additional information section, but I would definitely want to send my actual resume. For the colleges that do give the option of uploading the resume, will it be redundant and negative on my candidacy if I were to send my "official" resume despite the fact that a shortened version is already on the common app????? For instance, Harvard and Dartmouth provides this option of uploading a resume while Washington U. prefers its applicants to place it on the additional info.

THANKS A TON!!!! It would mean a lot to answer this quickly; around 4 of my applications are on hold due to this question!!!

Most colleges do NOT want your resume. It is generally redundant with info already in the application, and is just more info for them to review (with some duplicated elsewhere). Unless a college specifically asks for a resume, AND unless the resume truly adds information that can’t be put elsewhere in the application, skip it. It is not helpful or even welcome at many schools.

Bump Bump

Each college common application submission is separate. You can delete the truncated version from the additional info for those schools which request or allow the full resume, and upload your full version instead.

Thanks guys!!!
