Question about SAT scores sent to colleges

This is going to be hard to explain since English is my third language but bear with me. My father recently heard from a few of his friends that when colleges receive SAT scores the colleges only count the highest from each section in each exam. For example, if in my first exam I get 600 on CR, math, and writing (1800) but then in the second exam I get 600 on CR, 580 on math and 620 on writing (1800), colleges will see it as 600 in CR, 600 in math (high-score from first exam), and 620 in writing (high-score from second exam) (1820).
Is this true?

It depends on the school, some have said that they took all the scores into account and some have said that they use super score which seems to mean that they take the best score of each section from all the tests. In the past before score choice, the school got all the scores regardless, but with the new score choice, you can send score from particular sitting to the school. I think, no one really knows for certain how scores would be looked at unless you are actually work inside the admission office. You now have a little more control with the score choice but then again, certain college still wants to see all the scores. I am not sure what happen if you don’t send all the scores to those colleges.

yes that is true. but correct me if im wrong u guys.

you cant just bs the other two sections each time. ex: get 800 reading one time and 500 on the others then get 800 math another time with 500 on the others. although they will take the best scores, they still want to see some improvement/steady scores. otherwise there would be no need for a composite score, and the college board would just let you choose the section you want to take.
