Question About Score Reports

If you self-report SAT II scores on the common app, do you HAVE to send score reports to schools that don't require them, or is it possible to send in only the scores that are required of you? I mean that if, say, I were applying to a school that didn't require SAT II tests and one that did, but wrote down my SAT II scores on the common app, would I be required to send the score report to both schools?

I ask because I'd rather just submit my ACT to some places and not have to deal with my mediocre SAT I score being 'exposed' should it not improve come fall. Besides, several places I'm applying don't ask for SAT IIs and I'd rather avoid spending any more money than is necessary sending the stuff.

(If this looks familiar, I posted this in the common app FAQ thread but got no replies. It's pretty much copied & pasted.)

Why not just email a college and ask?

You can do different versions of the Common App for different colleges - so you could only put the ACT scores on the ones that don't require the SATIIs. (There are instructions on the welcome page to create custom versions.) When you order your score reports (which is done through ACT or College Board, not the Common App), pick and choose who gets what.

ROFL, I didn't even think of emailing the places. Thanks.

Also, thanks for the information about different versions. That solves my problem!
