Question about self-studying

Would it be easier for me to self-study for the ap english test if I take regular English or If I take the cambridge program(a program that in junior year is half regular english and then half very writing intensive class). I've heard ap english requires no outside information is this true? How far in advance so I prepare for ap English If i want a 5? Thanks for any and all help.

AP English requires knowledge of literary and rhetorical terms. AP English Lit requires outside knowledge of some novels or plays (anything “of recognized literary merit”). Both require strong writing skills.

I intend to take ap english not lit. But i should be fine even though I didn’t take the course as long as I prepare for a month or two ahead correct. In cambridge I will be writing a lot but I don’t know how much I’ll be analyzing or how much critical reading I’ll do.

(AP English Language & Composition and AP English Literature and Composition are both often referred to as “AP English”).

That said, learn terms, hone your writing skills, practice rhetorical analysis, and you should be well prepared.

All right thanks a lot I think If I get a lot out of Cambridge I should be fine. Thanks for the advice
