I just requested, via CB's website, that CB send SAT scores to Emory today. The deadline for Emory Scholars is Nov. 1. Since that is basically three weeks from today, and they say it can take from 3-5 weeks, will there be a problem if the scores don't arrive until 5 weeks from now, hence, if scores arrive like Nov. 14 (assuming the rest of my app is postmarked nov. 1)?

best bet is to e-mail the admissions dept. and ask them. they might ask you to rush mail your scores, which will cost a fair amount, but "not getting your SAT scores in time" is a somewhat unfortunate reason for not getting a scholarship.

I'm curious about that also, having done the same thing. I would assume that it isn't an issue given that the nov. deadline is a postmark deadline by which things must be sent.

yeah, if it's a postmark deadline, then it should be fine. I sent in my common app 1-2 days late for JHU (which was something I could easily have controlled myself - but you can't control how fast the College Board mails out your scores) and still got in, so...

sure, it's a postmark deadline, but do you define postmark by when you requested the scores? no, I think it's when CB actually mails them.

thebillsfan,

Be sure to have your Emory admissions application AND your Emory Scholars Program application finished and mailed by the deadline of Nov. 1.

For your SAT scores, it is OK to have them arrive later (via College Board). It is OK to have those scores arrive by mid-November timeframe. If you have already requested your scores to be sent, you should be fine.
