Question About Teacher Evaluations

Hey all, this is probably doesn't matter that much, but I'm nervous about it anyway. One of my teachers who wrote an evaluation for me has already sent their evaluation with the letter addressed to MIT but without the "MIT Admissions" and "Room 10-100" part on the front. Should I be worried about my letter not getting to admissions? Should I send it again with the address stated on the my.mit.edu site? Help asap please, applying EA :(

Did she address the envelope to “MIT” or to “MIT Undergraduate Admissions”? If she addressed it just to MIT, I would have her re-send it – MIT as an institution gets a huge volume of mail, and without a room number, it won’t be obvious to the mail staff where the letter ought to go.

If she addressed it to “MIT Undergraduate Admissions”, it will likely get to the right place, even without a room number.

Above all, don’t panic. Just have her re-send the letter. Alternately, you can wait to see whether the letter arrives and is filed – if it hasn’t arrived by the time the admissions staff is done sorting the mail (typically by mid-November for EA), you’ll have the opportunity for her to re-send it via fax. There is plenty of time for this mistake to be fixed.

It was simply the MIT address I believe. How will I be able to know if my letter was received?

There’s a tracker for application components on MyMIT. It typically takes a few weeks for mailed application pieces to be updated.

Ah okay, sorry one more question. Do our SAT I/II scores and teacher evaluations have to be received by November 1st or postmarked by then?

Sent from my Nexus S 4G using CC

They must be postmarked by November 1, not received by November 1.

Ok, thanks for the info!
