Question about the Pharmacy school...

From what I've heard, I know it is impossible to transfer to pharmD for the 3rd year (major years) but is it just as hard to get into the pharmD for graduate school? I'm majoring in biology right now and almost finish with the prereq. Just curious to know if I have a better chance of getting into the school after getting the BS in biology then just applying now as a transfer.

Thank you

You won’t get in as a transfer. They flat out do not accept applications for transfers, because the program starts pharmacy-specific classes their first year.

They will not accept you as a transfer after 3rd year. My class a few students who transfered after 2nd yr, 1 internally (switch from biochem i think) and a couple more (3 or so) with degrees.

You can always get into the program as a graduate student. That way you know if you really want it and you have more options to choose from because you can apply elsewhere.

as of this year or last year NU Pharmacy stopped accepting grad students. something dealing with prestige of the program.

hmm where did you hear this from??? I am really interested in going to Northeastern to get my graduate degree in pharmacy too…
