I am going to apply to Berkeley pretty soon, and I cannot find any information about when to send transcripts, such as recommendation, grades, and etc.
When do I send the transcripts?

recs are not used at all, but i don't know about the others.

After the college(s) accept you, you send them a transcript to whichever college you want to go to.

Sigh...

This has been posted many, many times.

Berkeley (and the other UCs) does not want your transcript yet. If you are accepted and decide to you matriculate, then you send in your transcript. It is then verified and, if there are no discrepancies, you may attend (your acceptance in March is actually "provisional," pending your transcript). If the grades do not match up, your admission will be rescinded. This is much more efficient, as they do not have to go through 45,000 transcripts, instead about 4,000.

yes, i think e understand that, what i really want to know is if they look at first semester grades/need a mid-yr grade report. i thought they did, but i can't find info on the admissions website about it. thanks and go bears!

Oh, I see. They do not look at first-term grades unless you have them (i.e. if your school works on the quarter system rather than the semester). Midyear reports are requested for those who are borderline, I believe.

ok, thanks!

thanks for the reply. I had the same questions.
